On Choir Of The Desolate Lucerne based Les Yeux Sans Visage present their first new recordings in over ten years. It is an album of raw elegance. Structurally dense and at the same time ethereally detached. Bright sparks of melody, hypnotic bass lines and kaleidoscope-like rhythm structures characterize songs like the shadowy «Roman Reports», the hopeful shimmering «Tidal Waves» or the fatalistic «All Is Lost».

The post-punk/new wave roots are definitely still present on Choir Of The Desolate, but the album transcends such genre boundaries unapologetically – not least with a hint of Walker/Brel in its cinematic arrangements.
