Professional Ghosts is the second collection of songs by Softlander, a quartet from Bern and Zürich that plays dreamy, carefully constructed pop songs. After the self-recorded neon-aesthetics they established on their first release Get On Board!, Softlander are now aiming for a bigger sound. This music takes the listeners to lush, sunset-painted landscapes. These grooves are wrung through the dream-machine, with the intention to move your emotional furniture. It’s music made of faded browns and yellows, channeling the beige covers of 70’s record sleeves, taking inspiration from these sounds of the past and pushing them into our uncertain times. This is a record about memories and dreams and ultimately, about ghosts.
