Just write "Lots of reverb and DIY" - that's what the Lucerne band Binary Sunset gave us for this press release. It's true, their music comes with a certain nonchalance, somewhere between 60s beat, surf punk and French protest rock - warm and euphoric, but also snotty and rough. Formed in Lucerne, the band sings in French because they think it sounds nicer and better conveys a sense of urgency.

It was only last year that Binary Sunset's debut single "Ne t'inquiète pas" won the annual music award of Radio 3FACH, one of Switzerland's most respected independent stations.

Now they spent their summer in the hot south of France to work on new songs. There, under the influence of four middle ear infections, triggered by the polluted water of a too warm pool, they wrote their new EP "Trans-en-Provence (fr)". And so it had to be the town of their summer Sturm und Drang episode that gave the record its title.
